The Sledgehammer crossbow broadhead features a solid steel ferrule tipped with Wasp’s bone-crushing stainless steel trocar tip. The 150-grain broadhead has a 1 1/16” cutting diameter and cuts through anything that gets in the way. The edges of the SST tip line up with each blade and paves the way through bone and tissue, creating pathways for the blades to follow, resulting in better penetration. Not held together by tiny screws or pins, but pressed onto the ferrule, it will never come off or out of alignment. It’s one Smart tip! Utilizing solid steel ferrules not only increases strength, but also allows us to reduce the surface area of the broadhead to improve flight. It’s aerodynamics 101: reduced surface area = fewer wind plane issues. Bolts shot at high speeds need stability.
